Rumors of a double Winter Classic face off in Calgary and Boston

An unconfirmed report from ESPN claims that the NHL is planning on expanding the popular Winter Classic game to include two games. The first 2010 Winter Classic Game is widely assumed to be the Boston Bruins at Fenway Park, although nothing official has come out. The Washington Capitals are the suspected opponent for the Bruins. If its true then that means there is going to be a lot of fans looking for Winter Classic tickets. There has been a ton of interest in Fenway Winter Classic tickets, and once the news become official expect even more fans looking for a way in.

But now, ESPN reports that for the first time there will be a second Winter Classic reportedly hosted by the Calgary Flames at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. ESPN reports that no opponents has been chosen but it would likely be one of the other Canadian hockey teams, likely the Vancouver Canucks or Edmonton Oilers. So while you can’t buy Winter Classic Calgary tickets quite yet, be sure to keep an eye on this site for all the latest.

With no official announcement about a double header for the 2010 Winter Classic, it would be pretty cool. Who knows, maybe one day all NHL teams will play outdoors on New Years Day.
